Dimethylglycine Protects the Liver and Strengthens the Immune System

Bookmark and Share

Dimethlyglycine or DMG is a simple amino acid glycine, which is attached to two methyl groups. It is also derived from choline. It is absorbed in the small intestine and transported to the liver, where it is processed in monomethylglycine or sarcosine still converted to glycine.

DMG is called vitamin B15, a member of the B complex vitamins, but is no longer considered as such. One explanation is that the lack of DMG does not lead to certain diseases, it means that it is not qualified to be called vitamins and other explanation is that vitamin B15 is not proven to be outside source and thus, not qualified to be called a vitamin.

Dimethylglycine is used to accelerate the healing process. This is done through improving the circulation and the body supplied with blood, particularly blood of healthy oxygen that goes to the heart muscle.

is considered to possess antioxidant properties that protect the body from the ill effects of oxidative stress, improves immune system, extending the life of the body cells, increase immune system response time, and lowers blood cholesterol levels.

DMG protects the liver from alcohol damage, protects the body from the effects of fatigue and stress, and authorities warned of the effects of a hangover after too much alcohol.

is also known to stimulate the endocrine and nervous system and helps regulate hormones. It is believed that the improvement of liver function, and therefore, can effectively help in ridding the body of toxic substances. It is also known to treat asthma, rheumatism, and can be used to treat some types of skin allergies.

Dimethylglycine is believed to be important for normal brain function, normal adrenal gland function, the normal process of growth and production of stress hormones.

DMG is also used by athletes and body builders to improve physical performance and improve muscle and body mass.

Foods rich in DMG are brewer's yeast, organ meats especially liver, pumpkin and sesame seeds, and whole brown rice. Brewer's yeast is dormant or dead yeast yeast free agent. It differs from the yeast that can deplete the body of vitamin B, when uncooked.
