Double Your Brain Power With Food!

Bookmark and Share

It is well known, said the fact: "a healthy mind, healthy body: a healthy body, healthy mind ."

Thus, in the same way that proper nutrition is good for your body, so it is for your brain.

and the food they consume, or "good " or "bad" may be able to affect your brain power.

Your brain is the greediest organ in your body, with some quite specific dietary requirements. Therefore, it is not surprising that what you eat can affect cognitive function. And like every other organ in your body, your brain also needs the correct fuel to perform well. Unfortunately, proper nutrition for the brain is often overlooked by the fast pace of life and often have to eat "on the road. " Take for example, the effect of simple carbohydrates (such as processed flour and sugary foods) in your brain and body. These foods can cause a rush of sugar into the bloodstream, causing insulin to be released. Insulin is working hard to "mop up" all the excess sugar in the blood; Problem is, insulin is a bit too effective, and can cause blood sugar levels to plunge. This is known as hypoglycemia. But it does not stop there. Hypoglycemia can cause the release of adrenal hormones: These hormones displace stored sugar from the liver, sending blood sugar levels back up. This is known as a "sugar high ". Thus, the body goes on a roller-coaster of blood sugar, the "sugar highs" and "sugar blues." But it still does not stop there, because the ups and downs in blood sugar and adrenal hormones can stimulate the brain neurotransmitter imbalance, causing fidgetiness, irritability, neglect, and even drowsiness.

and after all, people work hard to keep your body in order to look good for as long as possible, so why not do the same for the brain? Here is a list of my top five foods that can affect, and possibly double the brain power! Omega-3 oils.

Perhaps the number one food for brain health, in the case of Omega-3 oils is overwhelming. Omega-3 oil (or omega-3 fatty acids) are essential fatty acids necessary for human health. They are called "essential" because they can not be produced in the body, and so must be obtained from the diet. Omega-3 oils are useful because they provide fluidity to cell membranes and improve communication between brain cells. They can help to improve the learning power, but also greatly improve the mood. Foods rich in omega-3 oils include oily fish such as sardines, salmon and mackerel. Maybe the fish is "brain food" after all! Vegetables and legumes Unlike processed flour, which contains a simple carbohydrates, vegetables and legumes contain complex carbohydrates that can supply your brain with a steady source of energy. This would include soybeans, beans, chickpeas, lentils i. Soybean

Soy contains natural plant estrogens called Isoflavones.

These are thought to act on estrogen receptors in the human brain, particularly those in the hippocampus, which we know is a key area for memory. As a result, new nerve connections can be formed more easily. Medical research has shown that people of foods high soy diet showed improvements in verbal and nonverbal memory and mental flexibility. Good sources of soy include soy milk and tofu. Berry fruits such as blueberries, blackberries, cranberries, strawberries and raspberries contain anti-oxidants, helps rid the body of harmful free radicals produced during the body's cells convert oxygen into energy. Scientific studies have shown that a good intake of antioxidants from fruits and vegetables will significantly reduce the risk of developing "cognitive impairment". Chocolate Good news for all chocolate lovers! Studies have suggested that eating milk chocolate may boost brain function. Substances such as theobromine, caffeine and Phenethylamine, present in milk chocolate, can act as stimulants, which can lead to increased mental performance. So next time you feel tempted to eat that huge sticky donut, think about the effect it can have on your brain and your body!
